Attitude and practice of Nurses toward prevention of catheter associated urinary tract infection at federal medical center Azare, Nigeria

Urinary Tract Infections (UTIS) are the most common type of healthcare-associated infection reported, among UTIS acquired in hospital, approximately 75% associatessd to urinary catheter. The aim this study is determine attitude and practice nurses toward prevention Catheter Associated Infection (CAUTI). A cross sectional survey design was used select sample 148 Nurses. data were collected using self-structured questionnaire analyzed SPSS version 16.0. result shows that respondents males (59.1%) within age range 31-40years (56.9%) with working experience >3years (70.1%). respondent CAUTI good; very good more than 80%, catheter care also 84.7% agree closed drainage system will prevent CAUTI.
